Brown Social Cooperative Website Terms of Use

Effective Date: July 5, 2026

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms are intended to set out the conditions and procedures for using the services provided on the website (hereinafter the "Site") operated by Brown Social Cooperative (hereinafter the "Cooperative"), as well as the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Cooperative and its members.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. "Site" refers to the internet website operated by the Cooperative to provide services such as introducing animal rescue and protection activities, sponsorship, adoption guidance, and the sale of goods.
  2. "Member" refers to a person who agrees to these Terms, completes membership registration, and uses the services provided by the Site.
  3. "Sponsoring Member" refers to a member who has applied for regular or one-time sponsorship.
  4. Website membership registration is separate from joining as a cooperative member (making a capital contribution) under the Framework Act on Cooperatives; joining as a cooperative member follows separate procedures and the articles of association.

Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)

  1. These Terms take effect upon being posted on the Site.
  2. The Cooperative may amend these Terms within the scope that does not violate relevant laws, and when doing so, it will announce the changes on the Site from 7 days before the effective date (30 days before for changes unfavorable to members), specifying the effective date and the reasons for the change.
  3. If a member does not agree to the amended Terms, they may request withdrawal of membership; if a member continues to use the services after the announcement, they are deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.

Article 4 (Membership Registration)

  1. Membership registration is established when a user agrees to the Terms, applies by entering their information in the registration form designated by the Cooperative, and the Cooperative accepts the application.
  2. The Cooperative may decline the acceptance of, or subsequently terminate the service agreement for, applications falling under any of the following:
    1. 1) Where the applicant has stolen another person's identity or entered false information
    2. 2) Where the applicant has previously lost membership status under these Terms
    3. 3) Where there is a concern that the applicant may seriously hinder the Cooperative's performance of its objectives, such as a criminal history related to animal abuse
    4. 4) Where the application otherwise fails to meet relevant laws or the application requirements set by the Cooperative
  3. Children under the age of 14 may register with the consent of their legal guardian. However, the Site currently does not accept online membership registration from children under the age of 14.

Article 5 (Changes to Member Information)

Members may view and edit their own information at any time through the personal information management screen, and if any details provided at the time of registration change, they must update them or notify the Cooperative. The Cooperative is not responsible for any disadvantages arising from failure to do so.

Article 6 (Protection of Personal Information)

  1. The Cooperative strives to protect members' personal information in accordance with relevant laws such as the Personal Information Protection Act.
  2. The Cooperative collects the following personal information at the time of membership registration.
    1. 1) Required items: name, nickname, date of birth, mobile phone number
  3. Detailed matters regarding the collection, use, storage, and destruction of personal information are governed by the separate Privacy Policy.
  4. The cooperative does not use members' personal information for purposes other than intended, nor provide it to third parties, without the member's consent. However, exceptions apply where based on relevant laws.

Article 7 (Provision and Modification of Services)

  1. The cooperative provides the following services.
    1. 1) Introduction of rescued and sheltered animals and adoption guidance
    2. 2) Regular and one-time sponsorship, and matching (1:1 sponsorship) services
    3. 3) Provision of content such as activity news and videos
    4. 4) Sale of goods and other services determined by the cooperative
  2. The cooperative may modify the content of its services as required for operational or technical reasons, and important changes will be announced in advance.
  3. In the event of unavoidable circumstances such as system maintenance or natural disasters, the provision of services may be temporarily suspended.

Article 8 (Sponsorship and Payment)

  1. Sponsorship funds may be paid through methods provided by the cooperative, such as automatic credit card payment or CMS automatic account transfer.
  2. Cancellation or modification of regular sponsorship may be requested through the website, by phone, or by other methods guided by the cooperative, and upon a cancellation request, it takes effect from the next scheduled payment date.
  3. Sponsorship funds (donations) already contributed are, in principle, non-refundable under relevant laws such as the 'Act on Collection and Use of Donations.' However, in cases attributable to the cooperative, such as payment errors or duplicate payments, a refund will be made after verification.
  4. The cooperative transparently discloses the details of how sponsorship funds are used, in accordance with relevant laws and its articles of association.
  5. Sponsoring members who wish to receive a donation receipt must provide the necessary information (name, resident registration number, etc.) after giving separate consent, and such information is used solely for the purpose of issuing the receipt.

Article 9 (Obligations of Members)

  1. Members must not engage in the following acts.
    1. 1) Registering false information at the time of application or modification
    2. 2) Stealing another person's information
    3. 3) Infringing on the intellectual property rights, such as copyrights, of the cooperative or third parties
    4. 4) Acts that damage the reputation of, or interfere with the operations of, the cooperative or third parties
    5. 5) Posting obscene or violent information, or information that promotes animal abuse
    6. 6) Acts of unauthorized disclosure or commercial use of information related to sheltered animals or rescue sites obtained through the website
    7. 7) Other acts that violate relevant laws or public order and morals
  2. Members bear responsibility for managing their accounts and passwords, and must not allow third parties to use them.

Article 10 (Management of Postings and Copyright)

  1. The copyright of postings uploaded to the website by a member belongs to the member who posted them.
  2. Members agree that their postings may be used non-commercially on the website, social media, YouTube channels, and the like for the cooperative's promotional and activity purposes.
  3. The cooperative may delete or block access to postings that violate Article 9 without prior notice.

Article 11 (Termination of Agreement and Restriction of Use)

  1. Members may request withdrawal of membership at any time, and the cooperative will process it without delay in accordance with relevant laws.
  2. If a member violates these terms, the cooperative may take measures such as a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent suspension of use.
  3. Even after withdrawal, rights and obligations regarding ongoing sponsorship payments, goods orders, and the like remain in effect in accordance with relevant laws and these terms.

Article 12 (Disclaimer)

  1. The cooperative shall not be liable for any disruption in service use caused by natural disasters, force majeure, or reasons attributable to the member.
  2. The cooperative shall not be liable for the reliability or accuracy of information and materials posted by members.
  3. The cooperative has no obligation to intervene in disputes arising through the service between members or between a member and a third party, and shall not be liable to compensate for any resulting damages.

Article 13 (Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction)

  1. Disputes arising between the cooperative and a member shall, in principle, be resolved through mutual consultation.
  2. If no agreement is reached, a lawsuit may be filed with the competent court in accordance with the Civil Procedure Act.
  3. Matters not specified in these terms shall be governed by relevant laws and commercial customs.

Addendum

These terms shall take effect from July 5, 2026.

Brown Social Cooperative Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 5, 2026

Brown Social Cooperative (hereinafter the "Cooperative") complies with relevant laws such as the Personal Information Protection Act, and establishes and discloses the following privacy policy to protect users' personal information and to handle related grievances promptly and smoothly.

Article 1 (Items and Methods of Personal Information Collection)

  1. The Cooperative collects the following personal information.
    1. 1) Membership registration (required): name, nickname, date of birth, mobile phone number
    2. 2) When applying for sponsorship: payment information (credit card information or CMS withdrawal account information)
    3. 3) When applying for a donation receipt (optional, with separate consent): resident registration number — processed pursuant to Article 160-3 of the Income Tax Act and related laws
    4. 4) Information automatically generated and collected during service use: access IP, access date and time, service usage records
  2. Collection methods: website membership registration and sponsorship application screens, applications via phone or in writing

Article 2 (Purposes of Processing Personal Information)

The Cooperative processes the collected personal information for the following purposes, and if the purpose changes, it will take necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent.

  1. Member management: provision of membership-based services, identity verification, verification of whether the user is a child under 14, prevention of misuse, notices and notifications
  2. Sponsorship management: payment and withdrawal of sponsorship funds, guidance on sponsorship history, issuance of donation receipts
  3. Service provision: adoption guidance, provision of activity news and content, delivery and settlement related to sales of goods
  4. Complaint handling: verification of inquiries and notification of processing results

Article 3 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Information)

  1. The Cooperative shall destroy the relevant personal information without delay upon a member's withdrawal or upon achievement of the purpose of collection and use.
  2. However, in accordance with relevant laws, the following information shall be retained for the specified periods.
    1. 1) Records concerning contracts or withdrawal of subscription: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
    2. 2) Records concerning payment and the supply of goods, etc.: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
    3. 3) Records concerning consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
    4. 4) Records related to the issuance of donation receipts: 5 years (Income Tax Act, Corporate Tax Act)
    5. 5) Records concerning access: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The cooperative processes users' personal information only within the scope specified in Article 2, and does not provide it to third parties except when there is separate consent from the user or special provisions in the law.

Article 5 (Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing)

  1. For the smooth provision of services, the cooperative outsources personal information processing tasks as follows.
    1. 1) Hyosung FMS Co., Ltd.: Processing of CMS account automatic transfers and regular credit card payments, and operation of related systems
    2. 2) Payment Gateway (PG): Processing of credit card payments
    3. 3) Message Delivery Service Provider: Sending of notification messages (KakaoTalk, SMS, etc.)
  2. When entering into an outsourcing contract, the cooperative specifies in documents such as the contract, in accordance with Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the prohibition of processing beyond the intended purpose, measures to ensure security, restrictions on re-outsourcing, liability for damages, and so on, and supervises whether the contractor safely processes personal information.
  3. In the event of a change in the outsourced company, this policy will disclose it.

Article 6 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and How to Exercise Them)

  1. Users may request the cooperative to view, correct, delete, or suspend the processing of their personal information at any time.
  2. Rights may be exercised through the personal information management screen on the website, by phone (070-8064-3973), or by email (master@brownsc.net), and the cooperative will take action without delay.
  3. Rights may also be exercised through a legal representative or an authorized agent.

Article 7 (Destruction of Personal Information)

  1. When personal information becomes unnecessary, such as due to the expiration of the retention period or the achievement of the processing purpose, the cooperative destroys the relevant personal information without delay.
  2. Method of destruction: Electronic files are permanently deleted in a manner that makes recovery or reproduction impossible, and paper documents are shredded or incinerated.

Article 8 (Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information)

The cooperative takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information.

  1. Administrative measures: Minimizing the number of personnel handling personal information and providing training
  2. Technical measures: Managing access rights to the personal information processing system, encrypting key information such as passwords, and installing security programs
  3. Physical measures: Controlling access to data storage areas

Article 9 (Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices)

  1. The cooperative may use cookies to provide personalized services to users.
  2. Users may refuse the storage of cookies through their web browser settings, in which case they may experience difficulty in using some services.

Article 10 (Personal Information Protection Officer)

  1. The cooperative has designated a Personal Information Protection Officer as follows to oversee the tasks related to personal information processing and to handle complaints and provide remedies for data subjects related to personal information processing.

  2. Users may direct any inquiries, complaints, or requests for remedy related to personal information protection that arise while using the cooperative's services to the Personal Information Protection Officer.

Article 11 (Remedies for Infringement of Rights and Interests)

To seek relief from any infringement of personal information, users may apply for dispute resolution or consultation with the organizations below.

Article 11-2 (YouTube API Service Use)

  1. Brown Rescue Team uses YouTube API Services in its own video editing and management tools (Brown Cut editing requests, intranet content system). When using these tools, YouTube Terms of Serviceapplies, and Google Privacy Policyalso applies.
  2. Purpose of use and information processed: uploading videos to Brown Rescue Team's YouTube channel, setting titles, descriptions, tags, subtitles, and thumbnails, managing comments written by Brown Rescue Team, and viewing aggregate statistics of channel videos (views, watch time, watch duration rate, traffic sources, etc.). We do not collect information that identifies individual viewers. In the comment reply function, we only process the public commenter's display name and comment content.
  3. Storage and deletion: Information received through YouTube API Service is retained only as long as necessary to provide the video management screen. Information older than 30 days is either refreshed or deleted.
  4. Permission revocation: From the connected Google account's Security settings (third-party app access permissions)you can revoke Brown Rescue Team tool's access permissions at any time. After revocation, or if you request deletion via email (master@brownsc.net), we will delete information received through that account within 7 days.
  5. Brown Rescue Team does not store information on users' devices or read information from devices through YouTube API Service.

Article 12 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

This Privacy Policy applies from its effective date, and in the event of any additions, deletions, or corrections due to changes in laws or policies, we will provide notice through the announcements section of our website starting 7 days before the changes take effect.

Addendum

This policy takes effect on July 5, 2026.
