We first met Somang on the day we were rescuing Kkamju at the Pyeongtaek City Animal Shelter. At that time, we couldn't rescue her immediately, but we later shared Somang's story with our director, and thanks to her decision, we were able to rescue Somang.
Somang has painful memories of being caught in a trap that caused her to sever her own front legs to escape. Currently, both of her front leg wounds have healed and she is recovering at Brown Animal Hospital.
Introduction & Observation Notes
Basic Personality: Somang is gentle, cautious, and a bit shy. She needs some time to open her heart.
With People: She's a little nervous around people, but she accepts touch and stays calm when held. With people she knows well, she wags her tail and shows signs of affection.
With Other Dogs: She gets along very well with dogs of similar size or smaller dogs. She may bark at much larger dogs.
Energy Level: Calm and not very active.
Ideal Home: A family that can love her exactly as she is, despite her disability; who will make efforts to help her live more comfortably; and who can patiently give her time to open her heart.
Special Notes: She will need prosthetic leg replacements as she grows.
