Introduction & Observation Notes
Age 6 years old · Weight 8kg
Maru takes time to open up, but once she does, she loves to come close, show affection, and enjoy being loved. She has a small mouth and doesn't eat kibble well, but quickly empties her bowl when we mix in wet food. She has a low energy level and prefers napping in the shade and resting in cool spots rather than playing actively with other dogs. She used to stay timidly in corners, but recently she's become more confident—sitting or lying down boldly in open spaces indoors and in the yard, enjoying her own time. When it comes to people, she waits for them to call her rather than approaching first. When her name is called, she comes slowly. A couple of months ago she would move away if approached, but now she comes toward people when called—she's adapted wonderfully. With other dogs, she prefers resting alone or with shy friends. If her rest is disturbed, she can get grumpy, but when left undisturbed, she remains calm and peaceful. Her sleepy, half-lidded eyes are charming (and perfectly healthy), and sometimes she even dozes while standing. We recommend a single-dog household where someone can respect Maru's rest time and shower her with love first. Health-wise, her liver enzymes are elevated, so she's currently taking supplements and medication.
