Tiki was rescued last summer from a breeding facility in the Ganghwa area along with several friends. The facility was so poor it made news headlines — the stench of rotting ammonia stung the nose and eyes, and the dogs were fed a sad diet of poultry byproducts. In the early days after rescue, Tiki was hesitant to approach people, having never experienced kindness before. But now, when caregivers arrive, she adorably wags her hind end and perks up her ears, following people around closely. Tiki and Downy were originally scheduled to be adopted together to Munich, Germany, but the adoption fell through due to strict customs and airport procedures. Tiki and Downy are the very best of friends — they play together every day and rest side by side, making the cutest pair.

Introduction & Observation Notes
She's a curious girl who warms up easily to both people and other dogs. Her energy level is moderate-low — after playing with friends, she finds a comfortable spot to rest, and she often likes to snooze nestled with the other pups. She'll give a little dodge if you offer your hand first, but her curiosity gets the better of her, and she'll come over on her own to lick your hand and invite you to play. She's a lively pup who bonds quickly with new friends. She loves meat treats, and so far there's nothing she particularly dislikes. We recommend a patient family willing to let Tiki adjust at her own pace and move forward gently together.
