Basic Temperament: Sharon needs desensitization to new stimuli such as unfamiliar places, sounds, and people. She requires sufficient time and experience to adapt to new environments. She is stable in kennel and shelter life and maintains daily routines well.
With People: Sharon needs patience to build trust, though she has shown positive progress spending more time near people recently. She tends to avoid approaching strangers. When on leash, she needs her handler's guidance. When she cannot escape, she tolerates body touch and shows no aggression toward people. Once bonded, she responds well to recall.
With Other Dogs: Sharon plays well with compatible dogs and generally accepts approaching companions. She can interact with medium to large dogs, but may show aggression toward small dogs or animals with small movements, and can become excited at small dogs beyond a fence. She may display aggression particularly toward dogs showing vulnerability (unguarded, fallen, or distressed), so careful management is essential during any dog introductions.
Energy Level: Sharon is not very active, moves slowly, and has a very calm temperament overall.
Ideal Home: A patient family who can build trust at Sharon's own pace rather than expecting rapid progress, and who can consistently provide a stable environment with the flexibility to move at her speed.
Special Notes: While Sharon responds to treats, her motivation is not strong, so training relying solely on treats may have some limitations.
